Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking an Expert Professional Services Engineer - Networks to drive architecture and delivery of complex network infrastructure in Johannesburg, collaborating with multiple vendors and technologies.

You will lead pre-sales engagements, guide project delivery, document designs, and mentor customer teams to achieve self-sufficiency and smooth transitions to managed services.

Qualifications

• National High School Senior Certificate or equivalent.
• Graduate or qualified by experience.
• Fortinet NSE 7/8 certification.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design network infrastructure across multiple technologies and vendors.
• Lead technical delivery of network projects.
• Lead pre-sales and projects engagements around network opportunities.
• Document solutions (architecture, configuration, setup, low-level design).
• Work within a project management delivery methodology in a lead technical role.
• Provide knowledge transfer and upskilling to customer personnel for self-sufficiency.
• Transition completed projects to managed services support teams.
• Perform project-related duties with regards to new and changing infrastructure deployments.
• Act as escalation point for complex incidents for assistance and consultation.
• Provide technical consultancy to other areas of the business to ensure integrity and performance.
• Collaborate with solutions teams to develop new services and proposals.
• Attend technical workshops with customers to determine goals and requirements.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Architecting and designing network infrastructure and connectivity solutions across multiple technologies and vendors
• Technical implementation and delivery of network infrastructure and connectivity projects in a lead capacity
• Technically lead pre-sales and projects engagements around network infrastructure opportunities
• Documentation of solutions (e.g. architecture, configuration and setup, low-level design documentation)
• Working within a project management delivery methodology in a lead technical role
• Provide effective knowledge transfer and upskilling to relevant customer personnel to ensure an appropriate level of future self-sufficiency
• Play a lead role in transition of completed projects to the managed services support teams
• Perform project-related duties with regards to new and changing infrastructure deployments as required
• Act as an escalation point for managed service support team on very complex technical incidents for assistance and consultation
• Completing customer change requests, including impact and risk analysis, implementing out of hours where required as part of projects
• Provide technical consultancy to all other areas of the business to ensure the integrity, performance, and support of new opportunities
• Work closely with the solutions area of the business regarding developing new services and proposals
• Attend technical workshops with customers to clearly determine business and technical goals, needs, and requirements
