Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Professional Freight Haulage Driver to operate primarily in Mossel Bay and across the Western Cape. You will be responsible for safe, timely movement of goods, maintaining logbooks, and complying with all transport regulations. A strong focus on reliability and road safety is essential.

The role requires a Code 14 with PDP, at least five years of heavy-vehicle experience, and the ability to plan routes efficiently while coordinating with dispatch and clients.

Qualifications

• Valid South African driver''s license with PDP (Code 14)
• Minimum 5 years of long-haul or freight-haulage driving experience
• Proven ability to operate large commercial vehicles safely and efficiently
• Good knowledge of the Western Cape road networks and Mossel Bay routes
• Physical fitness for loading/unloading and vehicle checks
• Excellent safety record and regulatory compliance

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy goods vehicles on long-distance and local routes, safely and responsibly
• Load and unload freight, ensuring weight limits and cargo integrity
• Plan efficient routes and navigate using GPS and local knowledge
• Perform regular vehicle inspections and report defects promptly
• Maintain logs and delivery documentation, liaising with dispatch and clients
• Adhere to road safety regulations and driving hours policies
