Placements24 is seeking an experienced Local Haulage Driver to manage freight within and around Welkom in the Free State. You will operate rigid or semi-trailer trucks, ensuring timely deliveries and compliance with safety and transport regulations.

The role requires a Code 14 (EC) license, proven heavy-vehicle experience, and strong knowledge of local roads. Benefits include a company-provided truck, training, paid leave, and opportunities for bonuses.

Qualifications

Valid Code 14 (EC) driver's license with a clean driving record.
Proven experience as haulier or heavy vehicle driver.
Familiarity with Welkom and Free State road networks.
Willing to work flexible hours, including early starts or late finishes.
Certification in safe load handling is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Operate rigid or semi-trailer trucks for local freight transport in the Welkom area.
Transport goods safely and efficiently between distribution centers and client sites.
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and load.
Adhere to traffic regulations and safety standards.
Maintain delivery logs and report route conditions or delays.
Assist with loading and unloading when necessary.
