Job summary

The Fire Tree Design Company (Pty) Ltd. in Riverhorse Valley, Durban, is seeking an experienced DTP Operator to join our busy large-format printing and signage team. You will prepare artwork for production and manage timelines to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery.

Candidates must have proven hands-on experience in printing and signage, with strong CorelDRAW and Adobe Creative Suite skills, and the ability to set up bleeds, crop marks, colour profiles, and resolutions for various substrates.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a DTP Operator in printing or signage.
• Strong knowledge of CorelDRAW and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Understanding of print-ready artwork and pre-press requirements.
• Experience preparing artwork for large-format printing, vinyl cutting, signage, banners, posters and decals.
• Ability to correctly set up bleeds, crop marks, colour profiles, resolution and finished sizes.
• Accurate with measurements and scaling.

• Check supplied client artwork and identify potential production problems before printing.

We are looking for anexperienced and reliable DTP Operatorto join our busy large-format printing and signage team.This position is suited to someone who hasproven, hands-on experience in the printing and signage industryand understands how to prepare artwork correctly for production — not simply someone with graphic design experience.

IMPORTANT:This is anexperienced position.

• Proven experience as aDTP Operator in a printing, signage or large-format production environment Strong working knowledge ofCorelDRAW and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop as well as knowledge of both Mac and Windows Excellent understanding ofprint-ready artwork and pre-press requirements Experience preparing artwork forlarge-format digital printing, vinyl cutting, signage, banners, posters, decals and related products Ability to correctly set upbleeds, cut lines, crop marks, colour profiles, resolution and finished sizes Ability to check supplied client artwork and identify potential production problems before printing Experience resizing, adapting and correcting existing artwork for different applications Good understanding ofCMYK, Pantone and colour matching Ability to work accurately with measurements, dimensions and scaling Good spelling and attention to detail Able to work efficiently in afast-paced production environmentand manage multiple jobs and deadlines Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with sales, production and installation teams Reliable, organised and able to take responsibility for the accuracy of work sent to production
