Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking an experienced Strategy Director to lead the development and communication of the corporate strategy in South Africa. You will translate Board-approved objectives into executable plans and measurable outcomes, partnering with Executive Management to align departmental strategies with corporate goals.

You will develop an integrated strategy map and scorecard, drive annual planning and performance management, and present insights to the Board.

Qualifications

• 12-15+ years of experience in strategy, corporate development, management consulting, or executive leadership.
• Proven success leading strategy formulation and execution within large and complex organisations.
• Experience working closely with CEOs, Executive Committees, and Boards.
• Strong commercial acumen with advanced financial analysis, modelling, and forecasting capabilities.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing, and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, review, and communication of the corporate strategy.
• Translate Board-approved strategic objectives into executable plans and measurable outcomes.
• Partner with Executive Management to align departmental strategies with corporate objectives.
• Developing and maintaining an integrated strategy map and corporate scorecard.
• Driving annual strategic planning, performance management, and Board strategy processes.
• Leading strategic analysis, market intelligence, opportunity assessment, and scenario planning.
• Managing strategic initiatives, transformation programmes, and CEO priority projects.
• Preparing and presenting strategic insights and reports for Executive Committees and the Board.
• Monitoring execution performance through governance structures, dashboards, and progress reviews.
• Coordinating high-impact strategic partnerships and special projects.
• Providing leadership support and continuity during the CEO's absence
