Job summary

HotelJobs supports a client in finding an experienced Restaurant General Manager for a prestigious midtown Midrand restaurant. The GM will oversee daily operations for a large team across 400 seats, ensuring policy adherence, service excellence, and end-to-end guest experiences.

The role requires strategic leadership, strong HR/payroll oversight, and a track record of driving profitability while managing costs.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership role within the high-end hospitality industry.
Food and Beverage Management background.
Proven track record of managing teams of 50+ staff members.
Demonstrated ability to drive sales and achieve financial targets.
Strong understanding of HR and payroll management.

Responsibilities

Implement, monitor, and audit all company standards and operating procedures.
Ensure consistent delivery of excellent food quality, service standards, and overall operational efficiency.
Track and analyze KPIs, implementing corrective actions where needed to achieve business targets.
Manage staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage during peak trading times.
Chair and manage Management Committee (Manco) and Strategy Committee (Stratco) meetings.
Maintain compliance with health and safety standards and conduct regular audits.
Drive sales growth through strategic initiatives and collaborative planning with department heads.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development.
