You will manage budgets above R100 million, enforce safety, coordinate with clients and authorities, and drive environmentally responsible construction. A Bachelor's degree is required; Master's or PMP is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree or PMP certification is a significant advantage.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in construction management, with at least 7 years in a senior role focusing on large-scale residential developments. Experience within the Eastern Cape is essential.
• Demonstrated success in managing project budgets exceeding R100 million and delivering complex residential projects on time and within budget.
• In-depth knowledge of residential construction techniques, materials, building codes, and South African construction law.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6) and construction management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of multiple high-end residential construction projects in East London and surrounding areas.
• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective execution and maximizing profitability.
• Create and implement detailed project schedules, monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments to meet deadlines.
• Lead, mentor, and manage site teams, including foremen, subcontractors, and direct labour, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Enforce strict quality control measures throughout the construction process, ensuring all work meets the highest standards and client expectations.
• Implement and maintain rigorous health and safety protocols on all construction sites, ensuring full compliance with legislation.
• Manage procurement of materials and equipment, negotiating favourable terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and local authorities, ensuring effective communication and problem resolution.
• Conduct regular site inspections, progress meetings, and final inspections prior to handover.
• Ensure all projects are completed in an environmentally responsible manner.
