Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Supply Chain Director to design, implement and optimize end-to-end supply chain strategies in a dynamic FMCG environment. The role oversees procurement, demand planning, inventory, warehousing, transportation and logistics with a focus on efficiency, cost reduction and on-time delivery.

The successful candidate will lead a high-performance team, drive innovation with ERP/WMS/TMS platforms, and manage a multimillion-rand budget.

Qualifications

• A master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 12+ years of progressive supply chain experience with at least 6 years in a senior leadership role in FMCG.
• Proven ability to manage complex international and domestic supply chains including procurement, manufacturing support, and distribution.
• APICS certification is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an integrated supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee procurement, demand planning, inventory, warehousing, transportation and logistics.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing supply chain team.
• Implement systems and processes to optimize inventory, lead times, and costs.
• Establish relationships with suppliers, logistics providers and partners.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, quality and safety standards.
• Drive innovation and sustainable sourcing initiatives.
• Develop and manage the supply chain budget and monitor KPIs.
• Assess and mitigate risks; develop contingency plans.
