Job summary

Fenris Personnel Cc is seeking a dynamic Chamber Manager in Gauteng to oversee long-term financial stability, grow membership, and govern operations in line with constitutional principles.

The role requires advocacy for the baking industry, engagement with government and industry bodies, leadership of training, and effective communication.

You will manage staff, coordinate committees and board meetings, and build relationships with stakeholders to advance the chamber's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the Chamber.
• Developing and expanding the Chambers membership base.
• General Management of the Chamber which requires basic financial management skills and the application of good governance principles.
• Advocacy and lobbying on behalf of the baking industry and representation on external forums, committees and working groups encompassing government, private sector and consumer organisations.
• In certain instances, you may be required to take up leadership roles in these organisations.
• A good understanding of legislation related to the baking industry and the wheat-to-bread value chain.
• Providing leadership to the key Training function of the Chamber.
• Being an effective communication channel and mouthpiece for the industry, which involves media interviews, written articles for trade journals, presentations at industry events, participation in webinars, etc.
• Achieving results through the effective functioning of specialist standing committees and contributing to the growth of the baking industry. This requires an aptitude for technical matters affecting the baking industry as well as a passion for skills development in the industry.
• Developing and maintaining healthy relations with other industry and stakeholder organisations, including Government.
• Identification of trends and new developments in the baking industry and communicating such to the members of the Chamber.
• Managing of staff and service providers.
• Facilitate Management Board meetings and Annual General Meeting in line with Constitution.
