Placements24 is seeking an innovative Executive Chef for a premier coastal resort and spa in George, Western Cape. Lead culinary operations across fine dining, casual bistro, and banqueting, crafting menus and elevating the guest experience.

You will manage a diverse kitchen team, control costs, maintain HACCP standards, and mentor staff while developing seasonal menus that showcase local produce and international trends. Relocation to George is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in high-end culinary roles with 3–5 years as Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.
• Culinary degree from a recognized institution or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in menu engineering, costing, and inventory management.
• Strong leadership and ability to inspire kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all kitchen operations for hotel dining venues and events, including menu planning and presentation.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of chefs and kitchen staff.
• Develop innovative, seasonal menus reflecting local produce and international trends.
• Ensure HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards are met.
• Manage food costs, inventory, supplier relations, and pricing strategies in collaboration with F&B Manager.
• Conduct regular training and maintain equipment for a safe, efficient kitchen.
