Job summary

On Line Personnel seeks a disciplined Excavator Operator for a fast-paced metal recovery and recycling facility in Parow, Cape Town. The role emphasizes machine care, safety, and efficient handling of bulk materials to keep production lines running smoothly.

Job Position: Excavator Operator

Salary: R50 per hour commensurate with qualification and experience

Seeking a disciplined Excavator Operator to join a fast-paced metal recovery and recycling facility in Parow. This role requires an operator who takes absolute pride in machine care, prioritizes site safety, and can efficiently handle high-volume material processing. You will work within a dynamic yard environment, moving, sorting, and loading bulk materials to keep production lines running smoothly.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent technical qualification
• Valid Excavator Operator Competency Certificate (accredited license)
• Valid PrDP or Code B Driver’s License (highly advantageous)
• Up-to-date Medical Fitness Certificate to work in a heavy industrial yard
• 3 to 5 years of proven experience operating heavy excavators in a similar environment (Scrap metal, demolition, construction, or mining yards)
• Experience operating excavators with specialized attachments (e.g., hydraulic shears, grabs, or magnets) is a distinct advantage

• Site safety compliance: Maintain strict situational awareness in a busy yard with moving trucks, ground staff, and changing terrain
• Equipment maintenance and care: Keep the cabin clean, report mechanical defects immediately, and ensure the machine operates within safe limits.
