Job summary

Placements24 seeks a proactive Special Events Sanitation Planner to design, implement, and supervise sanitation and waste management for Soweto events. You will coordinate with venues, vendors, and authorities to ensure safe, hygienic environments for attendees and staff.

The role requires hands-on on-site management during events, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to public health and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in event management, facilities management, or sanitation operations.
• Experience developing and implementing sanitation or waste management plans for large-scale events.
• Strong understanding of public health, hygiene, and environmental regulations for events.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced event environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed sanitation and waste management plans for various special events in Soweto.
• Coordinate with event organizers, venue management, and external suppliers to implement sanitation strategies.
• Oversee the deployment and management of sanitation staff and resources during events.
• Ensure adequate provision and servicing of portable toilets, handwashing stations, and waste receptacles.
• Monitor cleaning and waste disposal operations throughout events to maintain high standards of hygiene.
• Ensure compliance with local health regulations, environmental standards, and event-specific requirements.
• Conduct pre- and post-event site inspections to assess sanitation needs and effectiveness.
• Manage inventory of sanitation supplies and equipment required for events.
• Address and resolve any sanitation-related issues or emergencies that arise during events.
• Prepare post-event reports detailing sanitation activities, waste volumes, challenges, and recommendations.
