Job summary

Drive Autogroup is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator greets customers, assesses vehicle damage accurately, and provides repair estimates in line with insurance guidelines and Drive Autogroup standards.

You will examine vehicles for structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage, estimate labor and parts costs, and coordinate with insurance adjusters to ensure fair, timely resolutions while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and college or technical certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 1-3 years of previous experience in an Estimating or similar role.
• Experience with collision management systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong sales and negotiation skills.
• Excellent language and communication skills.
• Mathematical skills.
• Ability to solve problems and effectively deal with a variety of situations.

Responsibilities

• Examine damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical or interior damage.
• Estimate cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.
• Review repair cost estimates with body shop manager.
• When there is disagreement on repair cost, arrange appraisal by another appraiser to resolve it.
• Determine feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts such as bumpers, fenders, and doors.
• Evaluate practicality of repair as opposed to payment of vehicle market value before accident.
• Determine salvage value on total vehicle loss.
• Prepare insurance forms indicating repair cost estimates and recommendations.
• Estimate cost of repainting, converting to special purposes, or customizing undamaged vehicles.
• Adhere to and apply insurance guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with insurance adjusters and customers throughout the repair process.
• Other tasks as assigned.
