Job summary

Country Hotel & Estate in the Rustenburg area is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager to support the Maintenance Manager in ensuring safe, smooth and efficient operation, maintenance and upkeep of the entire property.

This hands-on role requires practical leadership across all maintenance activities – plumbing, electrical, carpentry, building and mechanical works – with team supervision, on-call duties and a proactive approach to preventing faults and maintaining guest facilities.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or formal technical qualification.
• Experience in a maintenance position.
• Experience supervising a maintenance team.
• Good practical knowledge of general property maintenance.
• Ability to perform hands-on maintenance work.
• Hospitality property or similar environment experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the day-to-day management of all maintenance activities across the Estate.
• Carry out general maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenance across facilities.
• Attend to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and other trades as competent.
• Identify faults and maintenance requirements before they become major problems.
• Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff, allocate daily tasks and monitor progress.
• Maintain records and ensure safety and compliance in all maintenance work.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers; obtain quotations when required.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues affecting guests and operations.
