Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Sustainability and ESG Specialist to join a hybrid team in Benoni. The role drives environmental, social, and governance initiatives, developing and reporting on ESG programs aligned with industry standards.

Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing ESG data, preparing annual reports, and engaging stakeholders to promote best practices. A strong focus on reducing environmental impact and enhancing CSR is central to this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business or related field required; Master's preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in corporate sustainability, ESG reporting, or environmental management.
• Solid understanding of ESG frameworks, reporting standards, and relevant legislation.
• Excellent analytical, data management, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's sustainability strategy and ESG roadmap.
• Collect, analyze, and report on ESG data, including carbon emissions, waste management, and social impact metrics.
• Prepare annual sustainability reports in line with frameworks (GRI, SASB).
• Engage with internal departments and external stakeholders to promote sustainability best practices.
• Identify opportunities for improving environmental performance and reducing operational footprint.
• Stay current with trends, regulations, and stakeholder expectations in sustainability and ESG.
