Job summary

AVBOB South Africa is seeking an ESG Specialist to support the implementation of the Group’s ESG Strategic Framework within the Shared Value and Sustainability Department. You will coordinate ESG activities, provide technical support to ESD programmes, and gather insights for national and international ESG initiatives.

Reporting to the Manager: Social Programs and ESG, you will ensure data integrity, governance reporting, and input on progress against strategy-informed metrics across business

Qualifications

• Strong communication and analytic skills.
• Experience with ESG or sustainability programs is preferred.
• Ability to coordinate, report and support ESG activities.

Responsibilities

• Support operationalising the Group’s ESG Strategic Framework.
• Coordinate ESG activities and ensure alignment with policies.
• Provide technical support into ESD programmes to achieve social impact.
• Gather insights for ESG/ESD programs nationally and internationally.
• Guide the ESG Committee in executing the ESG Framework.
• Advise cross-functional teams on ESG risk and opportunities.
• Monitor ESG initiatives and contribute to governance reports.
• Coordinate data collection and analysis for impact measurement.
• Assist in data-driven decision-making across management levels.
• Prepare post-implementation evaluation for ESD initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with internal audits and BBBEE requirements.
• Maintain SLAs and engage stakeholders on regulatory requirements.
• Upskill employees on ESG best practices.
• Consolidate ESG efforts for reporting to governance bodies.
• Support budget administration for ESG and ESD activities.
