Job summary

Scatec in Cape Town is seeking an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Specialist for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will establish and manage a centralised EPR compliance framework in South Africa, tracking products through their lifecycle and ensuring reporting accuracy across multiple functions.

You will translate regulatory obligations into practical controls, consolidate data from Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Environmental and Finance, and work with government/regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Environmental Management, Law or related field.
• 3-5 years’ experience in data-intensive reporting, compliance, or ESG/EPR roles.
• Strong data management and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience designing or improving cross-functional systems and processes.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational controls.
• Analytical mindset with financial acumen and attention to detail.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, including with government/regulatory bodies.
• Ability to work independently across functions and manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead Scatec’s EPR compliance with Waste Act and EPR requirements.
• Establish central system to track imported products lifecycle.
• Consolidate data from Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Environmental, Finance.
• Maintain auditable registers of imported equipment, packaging, batteries, lighting.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports and meet deadlines.
• Evaluate PRO participation or internal compliance structures.
• Assess tracking processes, identify gaps, implement improvements.
• Support EPR financial planning, fee forecasting, audits, and governance.
