About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental Manager to lead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives for their mining operations near Randburg . This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to all environmental legislation, developing and implementing environmental management plans, and fostering a culture of environmental stewardship. You will be responsible for overseeing impact assessments, managing rehabilitation efforts, and engaging with regulatory bodies and local communities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a passion for sustainable mining practices in the Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems (EMS).
• Ensure compliance with all national and local environmental legislation and permits.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and manage rehabilitation programs.
• Monitor environmental performance, including water quality, air emissions, and waste management.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, stakeholders, and local communities on environmental matters.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on environmental best practices and responsibilities.

Requirements
