Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a specialized Environmental Chemical Engineer to join a Mossel Bay sustainability team. The role focuses on developing and implementing chemical processes to minimize environmental impact and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will work on wastewater treatment, pollution control, and resource efficiency within chemical operations, collaborating with operations and engineering to embed sustainable practices in plant design and modifications.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with environmental focus.
Minimum 5 years in environmental compliance and process design in the chemical industry.
Knowledge of environmental regulations, pollution control tech, and waste management.
Proficiency with environmental modeling software and data analysis.
Strong reporting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design and implement chemical treatment processes for industrial wastewater and emissions.
Conduct environmental impact assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
Optimize processes to reduce waste and improve resource utilization.
Monitor environmental performance metrics and prepare regulatory reports.
