Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Environmental Chemical Engineer to join our client’s team in Mahikeng on-site. You will design, implement and monitor systems for wastewater, emissions and water usage, ensuring regulatory compliance and sustainable practices across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental engineering, with focus on chemical processes.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations (air, water, waste).
• Experience with environmental modeling and assessment tools.
• Proficiency in process design for pollution control systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement wastewater treatment processes and air pollution control systems.
• Monitor environmental compliance with local and national regulations.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments for new projects and process changes.
• Develop and manage hazardous waste disposal programs.
• Identify opportunities for pollution prevention and resource conservation.
• Prepare environmental reports and maintain regulatory permits.
