Job summary

Clicks Group Limited in Cape Town is seeking a talented BI Developer to support reporting and analytics across Microsoft Power BI and SAP BusinessObjects. The role involves creating reports and dashboards, supporting data models, and delivering accurate insights to stakeholders.

You will assist in developing Power BI dashboards and SAP BO reports, while collaborating with Analysts and Developers to meet business requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of BI concepts and reporting.
• Experience with Power BI report/dashboard development.
• Familiarity with SAP BusinessObjects reporting tools (Web Intelligence).
• Understanding of data modelling principles and best practices.
• Knowledge of DAX and Power Query.
• Basic SQL querying and database skills.
• Experience with structured data from multiple systems.
• Awareness of data governance and data quality principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports, and scorecards.
• Support the creation and maintenance of SAP BusinessObjects reports and universes.
• Design, build, test, and deploy reporting solutions to meet business needs.
• Develop Power BI data models, DAX measures, and Power Query transformations.
• Create and maintain SAP Web Intelligence reports and support universe structures.
• Troubleshoot data, report, and performance issues across BI environments.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, and stakeholders to define reporting requirements.
• Validate data accuracy and consistency across reporting platforms.
• Document reporting solutions, business rules, and technical specifications.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
• Participate in testing, reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Support migration of legacy SAP BO reports to Power BI where applicable.

Introduction

To support the Business Intelligence team in developing, maintaining, and enhancing reporting and analytics solutions across both Microsoft Power BI and SAP BusinessObjects platforms. The role involves creating reports and dashboards, supporting data models and universes, assisting with report migrations, and delivering accurate business insights to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards, reports, and scorecards.
• Support the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of SAP BusinessObjects reports and reporting universes.
• Design, build, test, and deploy reporting solutions to meet business requirements.
• Develop and maintain Power BI data models, DAX measures, and Power Query transformations.
• Create and maintain SAP Web Intelligence (Webi) reports and support universe structures where required.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving data, report, and performance issues across Power BI and SAP BO environments.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, and stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of Business Intelligence and reporting concepts.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI report and dashboard development.
• Familiarity with SAP BusinessObjects reporting tools, particularly Web Intelligence (Webi).
• Understanding of data modelling principles and best practices.
• Knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query.
• Basic SQL querying and database skills.
• Experience working with structured data from multiple business systems.
• Understanding of reporting lifecycles and data validation processes.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Exposure to SAP BusinessObjects Universe Design Tool (UDT) or Information Design Tool (IDT).
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
• Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Reporting, Data Analytics, or Software Development.
• Exposure to Power BI and/or SAP BusinessObjects through internships, academic projects, or practical work experience will be advantageous.

This role offers the opportunity to grow into a Mid-Level or Senior BI Developer position, with exposure to enterprise reporting architecture, data warehousing, advanced analytics, Microsoft Fabric, cloud-based data platforms, and business intelligence solution design.
