Job summary

Stethoscope SA seeks an Enrolled Nurse to provide direct and indirect nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including assisting the scrub nurse in operations and keeping the operating room sterile.

You will monitor patients, manage stock, support pre- and post-operative care, ensure infection prevention and documentation, and contribute to holistic patient care. SANC registration and a minimum of five years' experience are required; private hospital experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and hold Enrolled Nurse qualifications.
• Minimum of five years' experience as an enrolled nurse assistant.
• Post-operative nursing experience desirable.
• Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control practices.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work under supervision in a private hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, control and replenish stock for wards and theatres.
• Assist the scrub nurse during operations and maintain sterile conditions.
• Monitor patients' physiological parameters and recovery from anesthesia.
• Provide post-operative care and assess readiness for discharge.
• Document care plans and maintain accurate records.
