Afrique Connection Consultancy seeks an experienced Enrolled Nurse to support clinical research activities in Durban. The role involves recruitment, consent, examinations, phlebotomy, HIV/AIDS counselling, and data transcription across HIV/TB/COVID-19 studies.

The contract is for 3 months with potential extension, requiring SANC registration, nursing qualification, and at least 2 years HIV/ARV experience. English fluency is essential; isiZulu preferred.

Competenze

• Qualified Enrolled Nurse with Grade 12 and Nursing Certificate.
• Must be registered with SANC as an Enrolled Nurse.
• HIV/AIDS counselling qualification is required.

Our client, an award-winning global research organisation conducting HIV, TB and Covid-19 research at four clinical research sites in KwaZulu-Natal, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Enrolled Nurse to support clinical research activities in Durban. Its work contributes to understanding HIV vaccines and pathogenesis, prevention and epidemiology, and the links between TB and AIDS treatment. This is a 3-month contract with a possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit participants.
• Conduct the informed consent process.
• Perform clinical examinations and sample collection.
• Perform HIV/AIDS counselling.
• Administer study-specific questionnaires.
• Facilitate receipt of laboratory results and transcribe them onto case report forms.
• Stock control and administration.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 with a Nursing Certificate as an Enrolled Nurse.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse.
• HIV/AIDS counselling qualification.
• At least 2 years' HIV/ARV and phlebotomy experience.
• Knowledge and experience of the treatment, care and management of HIV and STIs.
• Knowledge of COVID-19 infection control and prevention guidelines.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Fluency in English and isiZulu preferred.

Remuneration

Market related, depending on experience.
