Qualifications

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, and enroll eligible participants for clinical trials according to protocol requirements.
• Administer study medications and treatments as prescribed by the principal investigator.
• Monitor participants' health status, document vital signs, adverse events, and any changes in condition.
• Collect, process, and meticulously document biological samples (e.g., blood, urine) and other data as required by study protocols.
• Educate participants about the study, potential risks and benefits, and ensure informed consent is properly obtained and documented.
• Maintain accurate and organized research records, including case report forms (CRFs) and source documents.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory guidelines (e.g., Good Clinical Practice - GCP, ICH guidelines).
• Collaborate effectively with the research team, principal investigators, and sponsors to ensure smooth study operations.
• Assist with study-related procedures, such as performing physical examinations, ECGs, and administering questionnaires.
• Participate in site initiation visits, monitoring visits, and close-out visits conducted by sponsors or regulatory agencies.
• Manage investigational product accountability and ensure proper storage and handling of study supplies.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with current South African Nursing Council (SANC) registration.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical nursing, with at least 1 year in a clinical research setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial phases, protocols, and regulatory requirements (GCP, ICH).
