Introduction
Awell-established engineering company specializing in the repair, refurbishment, and supply of electric motors, pumps, fans, gearboxes, and associated equipment islooking for a reliable, organized, and self-motivated Storeman to join theirteam. The company is based in the north of Pretoria.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management and control of the company's stores, ensuring that inventory is accurately maintained and readily available to support workshop operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a clean, neat, organized, and safe stores environment at all times.
- Receiving, inspecting, and correctly storing incoming stock.
- Issuing stock to workshop personnel while maintaining accurate records.
- Monitoring stock levels and ensuring the store remains fully stocked with:
- Electric motors
- Bearings
- Oil seals and mechanical seals
- Electric motor spare parts
- Consumables
- Paints and varnishes
- Fasteners and general engineering supplies
- Conducting regular stock counts and cycle counts.
- Identifying low stock levels and assisting with procurement to prevent shortages.
- Ensuring stock is correctly labelled, identified, and stored.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records using the company's stock control system.
- Assisting with loading and unloading deliveries when required.
- Working closely with the workshop and salesdepartments to ensure efficient operations.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping at all times.
- Ensure work in progress jobs are correctly binned and stored.
- Check and monitor tool store, issue and re-receive tools. Check tool condition.
Minimum Requirements
- Previous experience as a Storeman or Stores Controller, preferably in an engineering, industrial, or mechanical environment.
- Good understanding of engineering consumables, bearings, seals, electric motors, or mechanical components will be advantageous.
- Computer literacy and experience with stock control systems.
- Knowledge of Mycrosoft Dynamics NAV will be highly advantageous.
- Strong computer literacy, especially using excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Good communication skills.
- Valid driver's licence and own transport will be advantageous.
