Job summary

Rheinmetall Denel Munition (RF) (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town offers a full-time internship for a Project Management Intern at the Somerset West facility. You will assist in project coordination, documentation, and reporting under the Product Development Projects Manager, gaining hands-on experience in scope, time, and cost control.

The role emphasizes ISO compliance, process improvements, and supporting monthly budget tracking and progress updates within a high-performance engineering environment.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Industrial or Systems Engineering at NQF 6 or equivalent technical qualification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Familiarity with MS Project is advantageous.
• Strong organisational, planning and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to manage and process data accurately.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and show initiative.
• High integrity, professionalism and adherence to office protocol.
• Valid driver’s license is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist in maintaining project registers including actions, risks, lessons learned and decisions.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings, take minutes and assist in tracking of closure of action items.
• Prepare and update project portfolio documentation, reports and presentations.
• Monitor and assist in maintaining the project portfolio database.
• Assist with compliance tracking and flagging or addressing gaps in project documentation.
• Support project data processing, reporting and monthly budget tracking.
• Coordinate short internal sprints and improvement activities.
• Plan short-term projects such as process improvements, reporting enhancements or other internal support tasks.

Education

National Diploma in Industrial or Systems Engineering at NQF 6 or equivalent technical qualification
