Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Software Development Manager to lead the EC2 instance placement control plane and data streaming systems. You will drive the roadmap, mentor engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver impactful compute optimizations.

You will manage a team of engineers, emphasize operational excellence, and shape the product direction within a fast-paced, inclusive culture that values growth and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• Knowledge of the full software/hardware/networks life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, certification, and livesite operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Software Development Engineers to build and run the control plane and data streaming systems for EC2 instance placement decisions.
• Create vision and roadmap for the team, driving data-driven improvements in EC2 compute offerings.
• Attract and grow high-performing engineers; mentor and coach team members; foster an inclusive engineering culture.
• Maintain a high level of operational excellence and refine the team’s agile software development processes.
