Job summary

Tongaat Hulett is seeking an Engineering Manager for Maidstone Mill to lead the day-to-day engineering function and optimise reliability. You will champion maintenance, safety and asset performance across the site and drive capital planning in line with business goals.

Requirements include a Mechanical Engineering degree, 5–7 years of management in heavy manufacturing, GCC Factories, SAP literacy, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and registration where required.
• 5–7 years of senior leadership experience in heavy manufacturing.
• GCC Factories certification and SAP literacy.
• Valid driving license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day engineering operations to maximise plant availability.
• Lead maintenance and reliability improvements across equipment and processes.
• Develop operating and capital budgets for the area and monitor adherence.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Engage with OEMs and suppliers to stay current with industry developments.
