Job summary

Placements24 in Nelspruit seeks an experienced Control Systems Engineer to design, implement, and optimize industrial control systems for energy applications. Based in Nelspruit, you will work on PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA projects to enhance plant performance and reliability.

You will develop control strategies, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with operations, IT, and engineering teams. A Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required, with at least five years

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years designing, implementing and supporting industrial control systems (prefer energy).
Proficiency in PLC platforms (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and SCADA software.
Strong knowledge of process automation, instrumentation, and networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
Cybersecurity measures for industrial control systems desired.
Excellent analytical and communication skills, able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

Design, program, test, and commission industrial control systems (PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA) for energy applications.
Develop and maintain control strategies and algorithms to optimize plant performance and energy efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control hardware, software, and networks.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and IT to integrate control systems with plant infrastructure.
Ensure adherence to industry standards, cybersecurity best practices, and safety regulations.
