Job summary

Premier FMCG is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to own all electrical maintenance and installation work across our production lines. You will fault-find, repair, and plan new/modified installations to minimize waste and ensure safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include reading electrical drawings, testing circuits, maintaining motors, transformers, panels up to 400V, and carrying out routine inspections.

Qualifications

• N4 Certificate in Electrical Engineering and Electrical Trade Test Certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years' post-apprenticeship experience in FMCG or similar.
• Strong technical ability and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of SANS 10142 wiring code desirable but not essential.
• MS Office literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Willingness to work overtime, shifts, standby and call-outs.
• Own reliable transport and valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, testing, and repairs on plant equipment.
• Read, interpret, and apply electrical drawings and specifications.
• Diagnose malfunctions, minimize downtime, and resolve issues promptly.
• Test electrical systems with appropriate devices; ensure safety compliance.
• Install, maintain, and repair wiring, panels, motors, transformers up to 400V.
• Overhaul motors and related equipment; conduct routine inspections.
• Order parts and report requirements to the Supervisor; support new installations.
