Job summary

The Talent Room (Recruitment Solutions) is seeking an experienced Electrician in George to install, maintain and repair electrical systems across commercial, industrial, and residential settings. You will read drawings, diagnose faults, and ensure projects meet SANS and OHSA standards while delivering quality results for clients.

Applicants should have a Red Seal, Grade 12, and a Wireman’s Licence (advantageous) with 3–5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with Red Seal trade test.
• Grade 12 pass is required.
• Experience across commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
• Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions.
• Read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Install distribution boards, switchgear, lighting, motors, MCCs.
• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Test and commission installations; complete documentation.
• Ensure compliance with SANS and OHSA regulations.
• Coordinate with clients and project managers; manage tools and vehicles.
• Overtime or emergency callouts may be required.

Our client, a well-established electrical and engineering company based in George, is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, fault finding, and repair of electrical systems across commercial, industrial, and residential projects, while ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry standards.

Description:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and implement effective solutions.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical plans.
• Install and connect distribution boards, switchgear, lighting, motors, control panels, and electrical equipment.
• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical systems.
• Conduct testing and commissioning of electrical installations.
• Ensure all work complies with SANS regulations and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Complete job cards, maintenance reports, and relevant documentation accurately.
• Liaise professionally with clients, project managers, and colleagues.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working condition.
• Identify potential risks and recommend improvements to electrical systems.
• Assist with project installations and commissioning as required.
• Be available to work overtime or attend emergency callouts when necessary

Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Qualified Electrician with a recognised Trade Test (Red Seal).
• Valid Wireman's Licence (advantageous).
• 3–5 years' experience in electrical installations and maintenance.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, and/or residential electrical projects.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
