Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join their team in the Soweto region. The role focuses on maintenance, repair, and operation of the local power distribution infrastructure to ensure a safe and reliable electricity supply for the community.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of practical experience in electrical distribution maintenance or installation.
• Knowledge of low and medium voltage systems and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution equipment (cables, transformers, switchgear).
• Conduct diagnostic tests and fault finding on LV/MV distribution networks.
• Assist in commissioning of new electrical infrastructure and upgrades.
• Respond to power outages and service interruptions; perform necessary repairs to restore supply.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment status.
