Key Responsibilities

• Install, wire, program, and commission PLCs, HMIs, and other automation control systems.

• Work with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), motor control centers (MCCs), and other electrical distribution systems.


• Collaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades, modifications, and new installations.


• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts inventory.


• Respond to emergency electrical issues during operational hours.


• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.

Requirements

• National Diploma or N6 Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Light Current or Heavy Current) or equivalent qualification.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrical Technician with a focus on industrial automation and control systems.


• Proven experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).


• Experience with HMI software and configuration.


• Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet/IP).


• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams.


• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.


• Must reside in or be able to reliably commute to Vereeniging, Gauteng .


• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally within the Gauteng region.
