Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer in Vereeniging, Gauteng, to design, develop, and implement advanced automated control systems for complex industrial processes across multiple lines.

You will integrate PLC, HMI, and SCADA, design architectures, troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime, and collaborate with mechanical engineers and operations teams to meet demanding performance, safety, and efficiency targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in industrial automation and controls engineering.
• Proficiency in programming major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software development and integration.
• Strong understanding of electrical hardware, instrumentation, and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for industrial machinery and processes.
• Develop and maintain control system architecture, including electrical schematics and network configurations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues, minimizing downtime.
