Qualifications

• Requires BSc/BEng in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems specialization.

• Knowledge of South African electrical codes, standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, including substations and reticulation networks.
• Develop single-line diagrams, protective relaying schemes, and equipment specifications.
• Perform load flow studies, short circuit analysis, and transient stability simulations.
• Ensure designs comply with SA standards (e.g., SANS) and international best practices.
• Collaborate with civil and mechanical engineers on site layout and grounding systems.
• Oversee procurement and installation of distribution equipment and provide technical guidance on site.
• Commission and test new power distribution installations and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain and update power system documentation and drawings.

You will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust power distribution systems for various infrastructure projects. This position requires a deep understanding of electrical grid operations, protection systems, and renewable energy integration. You will contribute to ensuring the reliable and efficient supply of electricity, working closely with project managers, field technicians, and other engineering disciplines. Key Responsibilities
