Job summary

KRONES Southern Africa is seeking a skilled service team lead to provide technical support to customers and technicians across electrical, mechanical, and PLC disciplines. The role requires travel and leadership of a sizeable technician team within the packaging/beverage sector.

You will oversee onboarding, tool control, PPE management, and the exit process, while coordinating with HR, dispatchers, and project managers to optimise resource use and training.

Qualifications

• National or Technical Diploma in Electrical with a Trade Certificate.
• Team management experience for 5+ years with 10+ people.
• Technical knowledge of machinery in packaging/beverage industry.
• 12 years technical experience in Packaging or Beverage industry.
• Working knowledge of the Krones portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technicians with Dispatcher before interventions.
• Review intervention reports and timesheets; feedback to technicians.
• Develop and improve onboarding procedures for new joiners (PPE, IT, tools).
• Audit and record all tools required by technicians.
• Assist Safety Office in PPE selection and issuance.
• Facilitate exit process for service technicians (returns, reports, timesheets).
• Manage Personal Time Off (leave).
• Attend Standby Support per Standby Procedure.
• Lead and develop technicians with training plans and meetings.
• Performance and functional management for technicians; feedback to stakeholders.
• Involve in hiring of new staff within the team.
• Collaborate with Dispatchers and Project Managers on allocation and development.
