Job summary

The Talent Room is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor specializing in electrical contracting to lead cost estimation, contract administration, and financial controls on complex projects.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s in quantity surveying or related field, ASAQS membership, and দীর্ঘ years in cost estimation and project management, with proficiency in CostX, BuildSmart, CCS Candy, and Excel. This role offers on-site work in South Africa with significant client interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or related field.
• Professional membership with ASAQS preferred.
• 35 years experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and project management within electrical contracting.
• Proficiency in CostX, BuildSmart, CCS Candy, Excel, or similar software.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, construction regulations, and contract law (JBCC, NEC, GCC, FIDIC).
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates based on electrical drawings and specifications.
• Monitor project budgets and control expenditure.
• Conduct cost reconciliations and financial modelling.
• Administer and manage contracts in accordance with agreed terms.
• Prepare and submit payment claims and variation orders.
• Evaluate subcontractor claims.
• Serve as the main contact for financial and contract matters.
• Maintain strong client relationships.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and compliance.
• Verify work aligns with contractual and technical standards.
