Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to oversee electrical maintenance in Soweto, Gauteng. You will lead a team of electricians and technicians, ensuring safety, reliability and minimal downtime across our logistics facilities.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in electrical engineering or related field, Trade Test as Electrician, and 7+ years in industrial electrical maintenance with at least 3 years in supervision.

About the Role

Our client, a major player in the logistics and warehousing sector, is seeking an experienced and proactive Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to oversee their electrical maintenance operations in Soweto, Gauteng . Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor a team of electrical maintenance staff.
• Develop and implement preventative and corrective maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment, including conveyor systems, lighting, power distribution, and emergency generators.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Oversee the installation of new electrical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults and breakdowns efficiently to minimize operational impact.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of necessary components.
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems and premises to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs.
• Prepare maintenance reports, work orders, and budget forecasts.
• Coordinate with other departments and external contractors as needed.
• Champion a safety-first culture within the maintenance team.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Trade Test qualification as an Electrician.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, PLCs, VSDs, motor control, and power distribution.
• Proven experience in developing and managing maintenance programs.
• Excellent understanding of electrical safety procedures and regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance management software.
• Valid driver's license.
