Placements24 seeks a diligent Electrical Engineer with a power systems focus to join our team in George, Western Cape. The role involves planning, designing and implementing electrical infrastructure for industrial and commercial projects.

You will work on-site for key project phases and collaborate remotely on design and analysis to deliver robust power solutions. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience, with proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems.
• Proficiency in ETAP, PSS/E or similar software.
• Strong knowledge of medium and high voltage systems, switchgear, transformers and generators.
• Familiarity with relevant South African electrical codes and standards.
• Good communication and teamwork, with on-site and remote work capability.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems focusing on power generation, distribution and protection.
• Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis and protective relay coordination studies.
• Create detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams and control panel layouts using CAD.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure electrical designs integrate with other disciplines.
• Conduct site visits for inspection, testing and commissioning of electrical installations.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement corrective actions to ensure system reliability.
