Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (power systems or distribution preferred).
• Minimum 5 years design/operation experience in electrical distribution networks.
• Strong knowledge of distribution system components, protection schemes, and operational practices.
• Proficiency with PSS SINCAL, DIgSILENT PowerFactory and ETAP.
• Experience with network planning tools and GIS.
• Understanding of SCADA systems and smart grid technologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and report-writing abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Knowledge of South African electrical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and optimize the electrical distribution network, including substations, feeders and equipment.
