Placements24 in East London, South Africa, is seeking an Electrical Design Technician to support the engineering team in a hybrid role. You will assist in creating and modifying electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

The ideal candidate has a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, at least 3 years' experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical, with a solid understanding of electrical circuits.

Qualifications

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Assist electrical engineers in the creation, modification, and updating of electrical schematics, layouts, and panel designs using CAD software.


• Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and component lists for electrical assemblies.


• Ensure all drawings and documentation adhere to company standards, industry codes, and client specifications.


• Conduct basic design checks and verification of drawings for accuracy and completeness.


• Support the engineering team with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical components and systems.


• Manage and organize design documentation and project files effectively.

Requirements

• National Diploma or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering Technology or Draughting.
