Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for on-site work in Nelspruit to contribute to critical power infrastructure projects. You will design electrical systems for infrastructure, produce drawings, and ensure safety and quality compliance.

You will collaborate with architects and civil engineers, perform load calculations and voltage drop analyses, specify equipment, and participate in site inspections to verify design implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in electrical design engineering, preferably infrastructure or construction.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with electrical design software.
• Solid understanding of electrical codes, standards and safety regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working on-site and collaborating with construction teams.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for infrastructure projects, including power supply, distribution, lighting, and earthing.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and other design tools.
• Conduct load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and short circuit studies.
