Qualifications

• Bachelor or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (B.Eng./B.Tech.).
• 3–5 years of electrical design experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and design software.

Responsibilities

• Perform load, fault current and voltage drop calculations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Perform electrical calculations, including load analysis, fault current calculations, and voltage drop assessments.
• Select appropriate electrical components, equipment, and materials, ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Conduct site visits for existing condition assessments, design verification, and installation support.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to technical queries during the construction phase.
• Assist in the commissioning and testing of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements

• B.Eng. or B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in a consulting or project engineering environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and other relevant design software is essential.
• Good knowledge of relevant South African electrical regulations and standards (SANS).
• Familiarity with low and medium voltage distribution systems.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in producing design documentation.
