Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a talented Electrical Solar Engineer in Cape Town to design and simulate photovoltaic systems. The role requires 2-5 years of experience in solar PV design, proficiency in Helioscope, AutoCAD, and a relevant degree. Ideal candidates are passionate about renewable energy and capable of working collaboratively. South African residents or permit holders only.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in solar PV system design and implementation.
• Proficient in Helioscope with familiarity with AutoCAD and PVsyst.
• Solid knowledge of electrical design principles and solar industry standards.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Designing and simulating PV systems using Helioscope.
• Conducting site assessments, shade analysis, and system sizing.
• Creating and interpreting electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs).
• Performing energy yield analysis and performance ratio evaluations.
• Collaborating with installation crews, contractors, and vendors.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and safety practices.
• Preparing technical documentation and reports for clients and stakeholders.
