Placements24 is seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer in Stellenbosch to design, implement, and maintain automated control systems for industrial processes. You will develop PLC logic, HMI interfaces, and integrate electrical components for efficient automation across diverse projects.
The ideal candidate has strong PLC/HMI expertise, knowledge of industrial protocols, and experience with VFDs and servo systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Proven PLC programming experience (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Rockwell).
- Strong knowledge of industrial protocols (Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
- Experience with VFDs and servo control systems.
- Experience with electrical schematics and control panel design.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission PLC systems for various industrial applications.
- Develop and configure HMI and SCADA interfaces.
- Select electrical components, sensors, actuators, and drive systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose control systems to resolve issues.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and clients to define system requirements.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology and implement them where beneficial.
