Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Educational Technology Specialist to integrate and manage technology that enhances teaching and learning at our Richards Bay campus. You will support educators and students, troubleshoot issues, and identify new tools to benefit the academic community.

The role focuses on maintaining and advancing the institution's digital infrastructure and fostering a digitally-enabled learning environment in KwaZulu-Natal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Education Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in an educational technology support or specialist role.
• Strong knowledge of LMS platforms (Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard) and other educational software.
• Proficiency in creating training materials and delivering technical support.

Responsibilities

• Implement, manage, and support LMS, virtual classrooms, and collaborative tools.
• Provide technical assistance and training to faculty and students on educational software and hardware.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to educational technology promptly and efficiently.
• Evaluate emerging educational technologies and recommend solutions to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
• Develop user guides, tutorials, and support materials for educational technology applications.
• Collaborate with IT and academic staff to ensure seamless integration of technology into the curriculum.
