Job summary

Dentsu Creative in Cape Town is seeking a Managing Editor to oversee editorial production across departments and ensure deadlines are met. The role requires leadership of timelines, coordination of editorial, art, and production teams, and effective management of assets and approvals.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in print production or traffic management, plus strong teamwork and budget awareness within an agency setting.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ experience in print production or traffic management.
• Experience managing a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft365 and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Thorough understanding of magazine publication processes and operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the production process between editorial, art, production, repro and advertising departments to meet deadlines.
• Set and co-ordinate internal timelines; liaise with Content Director and Head of Production.
• Lead status meetings and manage all jobs in the system.
• Oversee workflow approvals and ensure timely delivery.
• Organise photography shoot planning; book external suppliers as needed.
• Coordinate with Digital Traffic Manager to optimize staff resources and deadlines.
