Job summary

CVQuest is assisting a Western Cape-based client in Blackheath (Cape Town) to recruit a Machine Setter with eccentric press experience. The role requires hands-on tooling knowledge, ability to read technical drawings, and strong attention to detail.

Youll set up machines, monitor tooling, perform quality checks, calibration, and maintain measuring equipment. Working hours are 07:30–16:15 Mon–Thu and Friday mornings; night shift may be required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required.
• Technical qualification (advantage).
• Hands-on eccentric press and tooling experience.
• Able to read, interpret and work from technical drawings.
• Fault finding and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with a tape measure and vernier.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work under pressure.
• OSH awareness.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines for production according to work instructions.
• Monitor tooling and report to Toolroom.
• Examine for defects, measuring for conformance to specs.
• Adhere to standard times.
• Maintenance of measuring equipment - including calibration.
• General housekeeping.
