Job summary

Hire Pro is seeking a hands-on Kitchen Manager for an upmarket Green Point restaurant in Cape Town. You will run the pass during service, call orders and pace sections, while ensuring plate quality and consistency.

You will manage the kitchen team, oversee prep and stock control, and monitor food costs and wastage. Maintaining hygiene and liaising with front of house during service are essential to keep service tight.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in kitchen management, head chef or senior sous chef.
• Proven experience running a busy pass.
• Strong leadership under pressure.
• Solid grasp of stock control and food cost.

Responsibilities

• Run the pass during service, calling orders and pacing sections.
• Check plates for consistency and presentation before they go out.
• Manage the kitchen team, including scheduling and discipline.
• Oversee prep and stock control, ordering and stock takes.
• Keep food cost and wastage in check.
• Maintain hygiene and food safety standards.
