Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Regional Transport Supervisor to lead transport operations across the Durban region. The role combines remote work with occasional site visits to oversee drivers, manage a fleet, and improve service delivery while reducing costs within KwaZulu-Natal.

You will develop strategic transport plans, monitor KPIs, and drive improvements in safety, efficiency, and cost control.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role within transport or logistics.
• Experience managing drivers and fleet operations.
• Strong knowledge of Durban and surrounding logistics infrastructure.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with transport management systems and fleet maintenance best practices.
• A valid driver’s license is essential; professional certifications in transport management are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transport operations and ensure timely delivery across KwaZulu-Natal.
• Lead and mentor a team of drivers, including scheduling and performance monitoring.
• Develop cost-saving measures for fuel, maintenance, and route optimization.
• Monitor KPIs for the transport department and report to senior management.
• Ensure fleet compliance with South African road safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Investigate transport-related incidents and implement corrective actions.
